Extra Recess

Kiddos enjoying extra recess this afternoon!

A Fun Day of Learning in 2C!

We had such a great day learning today! We continued our work on How-To writing and made homemade applesauce throughout the day, check their backpacks for the recipe we used! This afternoon we joined up with our Book Buddies in 1F to share some November Books. We even earned a dance party for being 90% positive points on ClassDOJO! The students were introduced to Go Noodle! A fun sight with brain breaks, dance videos, and much more. Here are a few pictures from this afternoon. Enjoy the weekend, Mrs. Buhts

Field Day Fun

Memorial Day Show

I  could not be prouder of how hard these kiddos worked to learn their lines and songs for today's show. Here are some pictures from the big performance!!

Field Trip

We had so much fun at the Southwick's Zoo today! A big thank you to Mrs.Crossman, Mrs.Rendon, and Mrs. Hopkins for coming with us!

Walking Tour of Leominster

We had a great time today despite the rainy weather! We started our day off at City Hall with the mayor. We also got to stop at the Historical Society, The Boy Scout Museum, the Superintendent's Office, Fire Station, Monument Square, and the Leominster Public Library. Due to the rain we enjoyed lunch in the auditorium at City Hall.  A big thank you to all of the volunteers who were our tour guides!

Stackable Liquids!

Today we talked about density and how liquids have different weights. Students worked together to combine corn syrup, colored water, dish soap, and vegetable oil. They were able to see how the liquids separated!

Simple Machines

We worked on building simple machines in science today! Groups were able to build a wedge, lever, wheel and axle, pulley, and an inclined plane. They have new ideas for their Simple Machine Projects, don't forget they are due next Wednesday!

Cat and the Hat Day!

We celebrated Cat and the Hat Day today at school! We began our day with activities in our room. Mrs. Lelli from grade 4 was our Mystery Reader, she read "The Cat and the Hat Comes Back".  This afternoon we wrote a fictional narrative about what we would do if the Cat showed up at our house!  Have a great weekend and don't forget to log into Reflex!

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!

We had a great morning celebrating Dr . Seuss' birthday today! We were book buddies with 1F and had fun reading with them. We were also "Booked" and enjoyed a story picked by another teacher.  Don't forget to wear orange tomorrow for Lorax day!

Reflex Challenge!

The grade levels are competing to see which class can solve the most Reflex Facts! What could be more fun than learning your math facts with a little friendly competition? 2C is currently in the lead in 2nd Grade and we have almost solved 100,000 facts! Woooo hoo! Classroom are trying to catch up to us! Just a reminder students should be logging on at least twice a week at home in order to improve their fact fluency! KEEP SOLVING 2C!

Somebody Loves You Mr. Hatch

Today we continued our Kindness Counts activities!  We read a story called "Somebody Loves You Mr. Hatch" Ask your child how the book showed acts of kindness! 😊 We also tied the story into our work on Cause and Effect!

Kindness Counts

This morning we had a "Kindness Kickoff" in 2C. This month we will be focusing on being kind to others.  We enjoyed a story called "Each Kindness", brainstormed ways to show kindness, and began our day with a kind note.  Kindness is contagious and we hope to spread it everywhere!  Stay tuned for more!
